Fire awareness; fire evacuation, fire warden and fire extinguisher training

Fire precautions legislation requires all employers to provide information, instruction and training to all employees on a regular basis. (This is normally regarded as once per year but can be more frequent in certain premises where there is a high life risk). In larger businesses there may also be a need for fire wardens who will need specialist raining. Your fire risk assessment should identify who should be trained and what training they should receive.

Fire precautions training should be provided by a person who has training, knowledge and experience in fire safety matters.

ARMA Fire Safety Ltd. offer training packages to cover all aspects of fire precautions training and each training session is tailored to suit the training needs of your organisation. A typical fire precautions training session includes:

Identification of common fire hazards
Fire prevention measures
The action to take when a fire is discovered
How to raise the fire alarm

Safe use of fire fighting equipment

Fire wardens where nominated should receive additional training including:
Overview of fire precautions legislation
Regular checking of fire precaution measures
Recognition of fire hazards

Minimising fire spread and damage
Selection and use of fire fighting equipment

Please note the following:

· The numbers of trainees on each session is limited to ensure a high standard of training
· Fire precautions training should be repeated at regular intervals
· All training session conform to Home Office and other relevant guidance documents
· All ARMA Fire Safety Ltd trainers are experienced fire safety experts (ex NI Fire and Rescue Service)
· Training is preferably carried out in your workplace
· All training and visual aid equipment is provided
· Fire extinguishers are provided for demonstration purposes
· All trainees receive comprehensive notes and attendance certificate
